At 5:07 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, a UT student walked into UPB to report a Sexual Assault that occurred the previous week, Thursday, March 31, 2022. The suspect was known to victim and there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Sexual Assault, Off Campus

Summary:

At 2 a.m. UTPD responded to a report of a sexual assault at 2619 Whitis Avenue. A non-UT affiliated person reported that while parked in a church parking lot, an unknown male pushed them into their vehicle and sexually assaulted them. 

Shortly after responding to the incident, UTPD located a possible suspect matching the description and took them into custody.

At 4:50 p.m. on March 3, Austin Police notified UTPD of a report of non-stranger sexual assault that occurred at San Jacinto Residence Hall involving a non-UT affiliate and an acquaintance who is registered as a UT student.

On November 24th, Austin Police notified UTPD of a sexual assault reported at 2 a.m. at 2500 Pearl Street.

On September 4th, a UT student contacted UTPD to report a non-stranger sexual assault involving an acquaintance that occurred at an on campus residence hall during the Spring 2019 semester.

The UTPD Criminal Investigations Unit is actively investigating this incident.
