Patrol Operations & Medical District

Captain Robert Stock serves with The University of Texas at Austin Police Department, where he oversees Patrol Operations and the Medical District Division. He brings 25 years of progressive law enforcement experience, including more than 20 years in supervisory and executive leadership roles. Captain Stock holds a Master Peace Officer Certification through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Texas State University.

Throughout his career, Captain Stock has led complex operational units, including the Public Order and Investigation Division. In his current role, he provides command-level oversight for patrol operations across day, evening, and night shifts, supervising three lieutenants and seven sergeants to support continuous, mission-focused service to the university community.

Captain Stock also has more than 12 years of experience as a K9 officer and has earned multiple National Narcotics Detector Dog Association awards in explosive detection and patrol operations. As a certified TCOLE Instructor, he has provided advanced instruction in Taser, Mobile Field Force and Crowd Management, Firearms, and Mobile Video. His professional development includes completion of the Austin Police Department Leadership Academy, West Point Leadership Academy, and FBI LEEDA.
