Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 18 years of age or older
- Criminal record free of felony convictions, good credit, stable employment history
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to read, write, and speak English
- Able to operate a hand-held radio
- Good physical condition, able to walk and/or stand for long periods
- Acceptable driving record and eligible to operate a university-owned vehicle in accordance with UTS 157

Experienced Telecommunicator Pay Placement
Applicants with previous public safety dispatch experience, including TCOLE-certified Telecommunicators, may be evaluated for placement within the established pay scale based on:
- Years of relevant dispatch experience
- TCOLE Telecommunicator certification and other relevant certifications
- Law enforcement, fire, EMS, university, or emergency communications experience
- Training, skills, and demonstrated competency
- Overall qualifications and job-related experience
Qualified experienced applicants may be eligible for an advanced starting salary within the established pay scale.
