Non-stranger Sexual Assault

Location
San Jacinto Residence Hall

Summary:

March 4, 2020

At 4:50 p.m. on March 3, Austin Police notified UTPD of a report of non-stranger sexual assault that occurred at San Jacinto Residence Hall involving a non-UT affiliate and an acquaintance who is registered as a UT student.

The UTPD Investigations and Analysis Division is actively investigating this incident.

The most common type of sexual assault is perpetrated by someone the victim knows, not by a stranger. Consent is enthusiastic agreement required by all and can be revoked at any time. Sexual activity requires consciousness and clarity.

Don't feel obligated to do anything you don't want to do. "I don't want to" is always a good enough reason.

Please visit the UTPD Sexual Violence and Sexual Assault resource page.
