Summary:

At 7:04 p.m., the Austin Police Department responded to a report of a robbery at Sid Richardson Hall.

A non-UT affiliate told officers that a subject punched them and stole their cell phone.

The suspect has been identified by UTPD.

Robbery - 12/08/19

Dec. 8, 2019

Summary:

At 1:25 a.m., the Austin Police Department alerted UTPD to a report of a robbery at 2400 Rio Grande Street. Austin Police say a Shell gas station employee with no UT affiliation reported being physically assaulted by a person. Items were stolen. 

Suspect Description:

The victim described the suspect as a black male with no shirt, wearing green pants and possibly intoxicated. The suspect was last seen running eastbound on 24th Street.

Robbery

Oct. 23, 2019

Summary:

At 3:15 a.m., UTPD responded to a report of a robbery in front of Carothers Residence Hall at 2501 Whitis Avenue.

A student reported that while walking near Carothers, a person got his attention while another ripped off his shorts. The student says a third person then hit him in the head with a gun.

UTPD is actively looking for the suspects. If you see anything suspicious, or believe you've seen the suspects immediately call 911.

Suspect Description:

The student described the three suspects as Hispanic males who left in a white truck.

Bank Robbery

Oct. 16, 2019

Summary:

At 11:30 a.m., the Austin Police Department alerted UTPD to a report of a robbery at the Chase Bank at 1904 Guadalupe Street.

Suspect Description:

The suspect is described as an older white male wearing a hospital mask, black jacket and blue jeans. He was seen walking out of a business and turned left going north on Guadalupe. No weapon has been reported.

APD and UTPD are actively searching for the suspect.

Robbery by Threat

Summary:

At 4:15 p.m. UTPD received a notification from the Austin Police Department of a robbery by threat. According to APD, a UT student reported that a transient approached her at 2025 Guadalupe Street, demanded money and threatened her with violence if she did not give it to him. The victim indicated she gave the suspect her debit card and ran home to call police. APD robbery detectives are investigating. 

Bank Robbery

Summary:

At 10:27 a.m. the Austin Police Department alerted UTPD to a report of a bank robbery at the Chase Bank at 1904 Guadalupe Street.

Suspect Description:

The suspect is described as a black male in his 40s wearing an orange shirt and grey backpack. He was last seen heading southbound on Guadalupe away from campus.

Aug. 28, 2019

Summary:

The Austin Police Department and UTPD are responding to a report of a robbery at the Target at 2025 Guadalupe Street. This is considered a strong-armed robbery with no weapon involved. The victim described the suspect as a black male with a red hat, red shirt, blue jean shorts and red shoes. If you see this person immediately call 9-1-1. They were last seen headed northbound on Guadalupe away from campus.The Austin Police Department and UTPD are in the area and are actively investigating this incident.
