UTPD West is now located at 2400 Nueces Street and is a space where community members can walk in, get to know our officers and share concerns. We hope the presence of a satellite office on Nueces can act as a deterrent to crime. Partner law enforcement agencies are invited to utilize the space.

Meet our West Campus District Rep Officer!

UTPD's District Representative program gives faculty, staff and students a quick way to directly contact an officer who is assigned to the particular area where they work or live. District Representatives serve as our community liaisons and are here solve any non-urgent, quality of life concerns you may have.

FAQs:

What actions can students take if they feel unsafe?

  • Call 9-1-1 any time you feel unsafe. Try to report incidents to police in a timely manner. (Students may prefer to phone a parent or friend or post to social media, but it is imperative that students notify police if they feel unsafe or are involved in an incident.)
  • Download the LiveSafe app and use it to report suspicious activity or to access special features such as the Virtual Walk option. There are also helpful resources available on the app, including a map for campus shuttles and alternative methods to get home safely.
  • Contact your District Representative with non-emergency questions or concerns. If you need immediately police response, call 9-1-1. If you can't safely call or are unable to speak, message our 9-1-1 Communication Operators on the app. You can send pictures, video, text and voice memos.

What other resources are available to students?

  • Visit the university’s Safety and Security landing page for more resources including the Sure Walk program, UT Night Rides, Counseling and Mental Health resources, student emergency services and other resources.
