The UTPD Motors Unit enhances public safety through specialized motorcycle patrol and traffic operations across The University of Texas at Austin campus. Officers who are assigned to the unit receive advanced motorcycle training that allows them to safely navigate high-traffic and pedestrian areas while providing a visible law enforcement presence.
Motor officers support traffic enforcement, respond to calls for service, assist with traffic control during campus events and emergencies, and provide escorts for dignitaries and ceremonial functions when needed.
