OFF-CAMPUS INCIDENT NOTIFICATION: Assist Outside Agency (Indecent Assault)

August 23, 2022

Around midnight on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, UTPD responded to a report of indecent assault in the 400 block of W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. An unknown male subject came up behind a UT student and grabbed her breasts. After the indecent assault occurred, the student ran back to her residence and contacted police. UTPD officers immediately responded to search the area, but the suspect had already fled the scene. No weapons were used and no physical injuries were reported.

The UT student described the suspect as:

  • Hispanic male
  • Short, dark hair
  • 5’6”
  • Unknown age

He was last seen wearing:

  • T-shirt
  • Shorts

Alerts issued for incidents beyond UTPD jurisdiction are dependent upon notification from outside agencies. UTPD is not obligated to issue alerts outside Clery geography, but will relay safety messaging from other agencies as a courtesy to our community.
