INCIDENT NOTIFICATION: Assist Outside Agency

Around 2:18 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022, the Austin Police Department (APD) received a call regarding a non-UT student who allegedly pointed a gun at four UT students in the 2400 block of Pearl Street. Suspects were seen running into an apartment complex in the 2500 block of Pearl Street. APD requested that UTPD officers assist with this call, and UTPD officers quickly responded, setting a perimeter and containing the subjects to the building. APD initiated a reverse 9-1-1 notification in the immediate area to have residents stay inside.

APD officers made entry into the complex and took two subjects into custody. The suspects were positively identified by witnesses in the area. One suspect has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. There is no ongoing threat to the public.
