On 12/03/2021 at 8:05 PM, UTPD Communication received a call of an incident that occurred. The victim, a female UT student, stated she was walking on the north side of Kinsolving Dorm when a male approached her, touched her shoulder, grabbed towards her purse strap and asked how much money was inside. The female victim ran from the area.  She described the suspect as a Black male, in his 50's, approximately 5'8" or 5'9", wearing a grey hoodie ad black sweatpants.

Officers searched the area with negative results.

The UTPD Investigations and Mitigation Division is actively investigating this incident. If you have any information about this crime, call 512-471-4441 and select extension 9.
