Self-Defense Course- UPTD instructs a course under the Rape Aggression Defense system (RAD). RAD is dedicated to teaching defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault by using easy, effective and proven self-defense tactics. The system of realistic defense will provide the knowledge to make an educated decision about resistance. RAD is a twelve-hour basic physical defense class broken into four hour sessions over three days. It is typically offered twice a semester.

Active Attack Prevention & Response Strategies- Officers will discuss active attack events and provide options that adhere to the Run, Hide, Fight protocol. Attendees will learn what action to take to potentially save their lives and what to expect from UTPD in these situations.

Citizens Police Academy- The Citizen Police Academy (CPA) gives the public a better understanding of UTPD through insightful information of its operations and personnel. It also provides department personnel a chance to interact with and to increase rapport with the community we serve. Over the course of seven weeks, we will help you understand how we do our jobs, why we do things certain ways and how you can help make yourself safer and help us serve you better.
