Crime Prevention Tip:

Two victims, $250.00 in reported stolen property. Not a bad pay day for the thieves. It costs .25 cents to rent a day locker. Remaining crime free: priceless.

Theft: A Besta electronic organizer was stolen after being left unattended on the 6th floor. Loss value: $350.00.

Crime Prevention Tip:

Libraries and Gyms provide the best opportunities for a thief to commit a crime. Thieves have learned that if they are patient someone will leave their property unattended just long enough so that it can be taken.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was observed by a student, approaching females and aggressively soliciting them to buy magazines or discounted day spa vouchers. The subject would them follow the females to a near by ATM and wait for the female to withdraw money. The subject was located by UT police officers and identified by the witness. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning and escorted off campus. The subject is described as: Black Male, 6', 190 lbs, 24 years of age. He was last seen wearing kakhi pants and a black sweatshirt.

Crime Prevention Tip:

In the past many of these solicitors have returned to the University to continue conducting their business. But they tend to work in groups of two or three. This is why I have placed his description into today's issue of the Campus Watch. If you observe this same subject or a small group soliciting magazine or day spa vouchers contact UTPD at 512-471-4441.
