Chemical Petroleum Engineering, 200 East Dean Keeton

Occurred between 01-27-06 at 4:00 Pm and 01-30-06 at 11:45 AM.

Burglary of Coin Operated Machine: The door to a coin operated vending machine located inside a 4th floor womens restroom was partially pried open. At this time, the machine appeared to have its full compliment of products. It is unknown if any money was taken from the machine. Repair cost: $40.00.

College of Business Administration, 210 Speedway

Occurred on 01-30-06 between 5:50 PM and 6:00 PM.

Theft: A Dell X8600 laptop was stolen from a 5th floor office while the owner was down the hall for ten minutes. When the owner returned to his office, he found a Sprint cell phone that did not belong to him on his desk. During the time frame of the theft, a UT student observed a subject walking out of the office carrying a laptop computer. The student described the subject as white or Hispanic male approximately 5"10 tall, thin build, in his mid 20's, with short black hair, clean cut, wearing blue jeans and a black jacket. Loss value: $1,500.00.

Engineering Teaching Center, 204 East Dean Keeton

Reported on 01-30-06 at approximately 9:35 AM.

Criminal Mischief: An unknown object was used to break a hole glass insert in a 3rd floor door. There was no evidence of an unauthorized entry into the room. Repair cost: $100.00.

Geology Building, #10 East Mall

Occurred between 01-28-06 at 1:00 AM and 01-30-06 at 1:30 AM.

Burglary of Coin Operated Machine (6 counts): The doors to coin operated vending machines located in a 2nd floor womens restroom, two 3rd floor womens restrooms, a 5th floor womens restroom and two 6th floor womens restrooms were forced open. At this time, it is unknown if any product or money was stolen from the vending machines. Repair cost: $250.00.

Recreational Sports Center, 2001 San Jacinto

Occurred on 01-30-06 between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

Theft: An Apple iPod Mini and a gold necklace were stolen from a backpack that had been secured inside a locker located inside a 1st floor mens locker room. The locker had been secured with a combination pad lock. Loss value: $300.00.

Robert Lee Moore Hall, 2515 Speedway

Occurred on 01-30-06 at 9:40 AM.

Criminal Trespass / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was reported as soliciting money from students in the 4th floor lobby of the building. The subject was found to have five outstanding outside agency arrest warrants for traffic violations. In addition to other law enforcement action taken, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 01-30-06 at 7:03 PM.

Disorderly Conduct (gesture): An unknown subject entered a 3rd floor lounge and laid facedown on a couch. The subject then placed his hands under his body before he began to make movements indicative of his attempt to pleasure himself. The subject was described as white male, approximately 35 years old, stocky build, dark brown thinning hair, clean shaven, with bad red splotchy skin. The subject was wearing a white T shirt, khaki pants, a blue baseball hat, and white running shoes. The subject was in possession of a gray jacket and a black back pack. The subject was reckless about whether a person was present and would be offended by his actions.

West Mall

Occurred on 01-30-06 at 12:52 PM.

Criminal Trespass (3 counts): Three non-UT subjects were found soliciting the sale of magazine subscriptions to students. All three subjects were issued written criminal trespass warnings.

Occurred at various times.

Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 11 alarm calls, 5 medical emergencies, 1 light survey, 1 trash dumpster fire and 2 suspicious activity reports between 01-30-06 and 01-31-06.
