Chemical Petroleum Engineering Building, 200 East Dean Keeton
Occurred between 11-18-05 at 6:45 PM and 11-19-05 at 3:00 PM.
Theft: A Compaq Presario laptop computer and a black briefcase were stolen from a second floor study area after being left unattended inside a secure office. The former owner of the Compaq laptop did record the serial number. Loss value: $830.00.
Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Bldg A
Occurred on 11-20-05 between 3:30 PM and 6:50 PM.
Theft: A red Trek women's style mountain bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the south side of the building after being secured with a cable lock. Loss value: $ 250.00.
Jester East Dormitory, 203 East 21st Street
Occurred between 11-18-05 at 7:00 PM and 11-19-05 at 6:15 PM.
Theft: A red, white and blue Pacific mountain bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the north side of the building after being secured with a cable lock. Loss value: $200.00.
Townes Hall, 727 East Dean Keeton
Occurred on 11-20-05 between 11:00 AM and 2:33 PM.
Theft: A silver and blue Trek mountain bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the north side of the building after being secured with a cable lock. Loss value: $250.00.
Performing Arts Center, 510 East 23rd Street
Occurred on 11-20-05 between 8:00 PM and 11:30 PM.
Theft: A UT student reported the theft of $110.00 in U.S. currency from her purse while attending a concert. The money was inside an envelope and the envelope was located inside a closed purse.
Crime Prevention Tip:
How secure is your property? In this case the owner stated that she never left her property unattended, but it was taken during a concert. Pick pockets love to work crowds. This allows him time to bump into their intended victim. Or wait and allow you to set the intended target down. When going to a venue where there will be a large crowd, consider carrying your wallet in your front pocket.
Union Building, #4 West Mall
Occurred on 11-20-05 at 1:15 AM.
Public Intoxication, Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was discovered unconscious in the bushes located on the north side of the building. During the investigation officers discovered that the subject had an outstanding outside agency warrant for Public Intoxication. Numerous bottles of alcohol, along with prescription medication where discovered incidental to his arrest inside his backpack.
1900 Block Speedway
Occurred on 11-19-05 at 12:34 AM
Criminal Trespass Warnings (6 Counts): Six non-UT subjects were observed skating down hand rails and other structures located on the east side of the Sanchez Building. All six subjects were issued written criminal trespass warning and escorted from campus.
2100 Block Speedway
Occurred between 11-17-05 at 6:00 PM and 11-17-05 at 11:00 PM.
Theft: A dark blue Mongoose mountain bicycle with tiger strips was stolen from the bike racks located on the north east portion of PCL after being secured with a cable lock. Loss value: $100.00.
Occurred at various times.
Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 15 alarm calls, 11 unsecured doors, 3 suspicious persons call and 1 medical emergancy between 11-18-05 and 11-21-05.
