9000 Burnet

Occurred on 9-7-05 at 11:20 PM.

Driving While Intoxicated: While on patrol, a UT police officer observed headlights traveling toward her marked patrol car. The driver of the other vehicle and the police officer were able take evasive action to avoid a collision. The driver of the other vehicle continued to drive on the left side of the roadway until the officer was able to stop the vehicle in the Parking Lot of a gas station located at Burnet Road and Highway 183. The driver of the vehicle was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, 2504-A Whitis

Occurred between 9-6-05 at 6:45 PM and 9-7-05 at 9:30 AM.

Theft: A silver colored Cyberphonic portable DVD player was stolen from a 3rd floor office. Loss value: $100.00.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 9-7-05 at 8:15 PM.

Indecent Exposure: While studying at a 3rd floor chair, a female student was approached by a male student who made small talk and asked to borrow a sheet of paper. The male student then sat in a chair close to the female student. The female student observed the male students genitals protruding partially out from his loose pants.

Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall

Discovered on 9-7-05 at 11:50 PM.

Graffiti: A black permanent marker was used to draw an image and write words on a wall inside a 1st floor mens restroom. Removal cost: $30.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 9-7-05 at 4:00 PM.

Criminal Trespass / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found selling brochures for five cents while on the southwest side of the building. The subject was found to have two outstanding outside agency arrest warrants for theft by check and a fire code violation. In addition to other law enforcement action taken, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 9-7-05 at 3:50 PM.

Criminal Trespass (2 counts): Two non-UT subjects were found selling framed pieces of artwork on the southwest side of the building. Both subjects were issued a written criminal trespass warning.

1600 East 21st Street

Occurred on 9-8-05 at 3:50 AM.

Assist Outside Agency: A UT police officer located a 1994 Toyota pick-up truck abandoned on the south side of the roadway. The truck had been previously reported as stolen to the Austin Police Department.

Occurred at various times.

Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 7 alarm, 3 unsecured door reports, 1 suspicious activity report, 3 medical emergencies, 1 motor vehicle collision 1welfare concern report, and 5 calls for service between 9-07-05 and 9-08-05.
