Assault by Contact: The former acquaintance of a 1st floor resident approached the resident in an elevator and demanded the return of his property. An argument ensued as the two exited the elevator on the 4th floor. The former acquaintance pushed the resident into a 4th floor hallway wall.

Crime Prevention Tip

In this case, the former acquaintance told the resident he would be coming to her residence to claim his property. If you find that a person, who may become violent, is coming to do business with you, take precautions. Invite a friend to stay with you when the subject comes over. Contact the police department if, at any time, you feel uncomfortable or threatened — even if the subject has not yet arrived. Investigate programs available to you, such as R.A.D. which offer self-defense training to females.
