Brackenridge Apartments, 3450 Lake Austin

Occurred on 6-7-05 at 7:56 a.m.

Assault: A UT student pushed his spouse to the ground after the two began to argue about taking their children to school. The spouse stated she hit her ear on an unknown object when she fell to the ground.

2600 Guadalupe

Occurred on 6-8-05 at 2:50 a.m.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor (2 counts): Two incoming freshmen, who were both under the age of 21, were found "staggering" as they walked along the sidewalk. Both students had come from a fraternity house where they had consumed alcoholic beverages.

J.J. Pickle Research Campus, 10100 Burnet Road

Discovered on 6-7-05 at 1:55 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: An unknown subject used red lipstick to write a message on the windshield of a 2003 Honda while it was parked near the Commons Building. The message referred to the displeasure the subject had with the way the vehicle was parked. Removal cost: $5.00.

Crime Prevention Tip

If you see an improperly or illegally parked vehicle, do not take matters into your own hands. Contact UT Parking and Transportation at 471-PARK to report such issues.

J.J. Pickle Research Campus, 10100 Burnet Road

Occurred between 5-24-05 and 6-7-05 at 1:30 p.m.

Theft: A Wilton drill press water swivel was stolen from a 1st floor storage room of building 131. Loss value: $400.00.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, 2504-C Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 6-7-05 between 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Harassment: A non-UT subject placed three annoying and unwanted telephone calls to a UT staff member's 3rd floor office. The caller would "ramble on" about various items including "sheep and the color of their eyes." During one call, the subject sang to the staff member.

Crime Prevention Tip

The complainant in this case obtained the caller's name and telephone number from his caller ID system. If your campus telephone does not have a caller ID function, you can capture the telephone number of someone who calls you by dialing *57 after you hang up from a harassing telephone call.

Noncriminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, UTPD responded to 5 alarm calls, 3 unsecured door reports, 2 suspicious activity reports, 1 welfare concern report and 3 public assist requests between 6-7-05 and 6-8-05.
