Brackenridge Apartments, 3485 Lake Austin

Occurred between 5-9-05 at 1:00 p.m. and 5-22-05 at 4:00 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: An unknown object struck the inactive window to a sliding glass door, causing the window to break. Repair cost: $100.00.

Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Building, 200 East Dean Keeton

Discovered on 5-20-05 at 5:50 a.m.

Deadly Conduct: An unidentified subject caused damage to an exterior door and a glass window pane in a second exterior door located on the west side of the building. The damage consisted of a small hole in a metal door and a hole in the window pane which, based on the evidence at the scene, is believed to have been caused by two small items striking the door and glass window pane with great velocity. Repair cost: $300.00. UTPD would like to establish a specific time frame for this incident. Anyone who saw or knew of this damage prior to 5-20-05 at 5:50 AM is encouraged to contact Det. Riojas at 232-9641.

800 East Clyde Littlefield

Occurred on 5-20-05 at 9:59 p.m.

Driving While Intoxicated: A non-UT subject was stopped for speeding, running a stop sign and driving partially on the sidewalk while driving a 2004 Ford Explorer. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated.

Collections Deposit Library, 1810 Red River

Occurred on 5-21-05 at 3:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.

Attempted Theft: A cable lock was partially cut while it was securing a blue KHS bicycle to a bicycle rack located on the east side of the building. Replacement cost: $15.00.

Comal St and Martin Luther King Blvd.

Occurred on 5-21-05 at 6:18 p.m.

Assault: One non-UT subject struck another non-UT subject with a closed fist after the two subjects began to argue about competition with regard to ticket scalping.

Main Building, #1 South Mall

Occurred between 5-20-05 at 6:20 p.m. and 5-21-05 at 8:00 a.m.

Theft: A white EZ-Go golf cart was stolen when it was parked on the west side of the building overnight. Loss value: $1,500.00.

Penick-Allison Tennis Center, 1701 Trinity

Occurred on 5-21-05 at 2:00 a.m.

Criminal Trespass (2 counts) / Assist Outside Agency: Two non-UT subjects were found sleeping on the observation deck. One subject was found to have two outstanding outside agency arrest warrants for public intoxication. In addition to other law enforcement action, both subjects were issued written criminal trespass warnings.

Printing and Press Building, 2100 Comal Street

Occurred on 5-21-05 at 6:25 a.m.

Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was reported as walking around the rooftop of the building. The subject was stopped after he came down from the rooftop and began to sway as he walked on the sidewalk. The subject stated he was trying to walk home. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself.

San Antonio Parking Garage, 2420 San Antonio

Occurred on 5-21-05 at 2:13 a.m.

Public Intoxication / Resisting Arrest: A non-UT subject was found lying down in a parking space on the 5th level of the parking garage. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself. The subject refused the officer's commands and began resisting his arrest in a variety of ways including failing to stand or walk to a patrol vehicle, using his body to push away from the patrol vehicle and eventually kicking at the police officers.

1900 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 5-22-05 at 2:26 a.m.

Public Intoxication (2 counts) / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: Two non-UT subjects were found staggering in the roadway. Both subjects were found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point they were a physical endangerment to themselves and others. One of the two subjects was found to be in possession of a 2" long ceramic pipe containing burned marijuana residue.

San Jacinto Residence Hall, 309 East 21st Street

Occurred between 5-11-05 at 12 midnight and 5-14-05 at 5:00 p.m.

Theft: A silver Ozone bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a cable lock to a bicycle rack on the southwest side of the dormitory. Loss value: $100.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred between 5-9-05 at 5:10 a.m. and 5-10-05 at 5:00 p.m.

Theft: A boxed piece of equipment for the Underground bowling alley was stolen from an unsecured 4th floor room. Loss value: $185.00.

University of Texas Elementary School, 2200 East 6th Street

Occurred on 5-20-05 at 4:23 p.m.

Leaving the Scene Collision: An unidentified subject ordered a bus driver to move a school bus prior to it loading school children. When the bus driver refused to move the bus, the subject attempted to pass the bus when there was insufficient clearance. The subject's blue pick-up truck struck the left side of the bus and left the scene without leaving driver information. Repair cost: $300.00.

27th Street and University

Occurred on 5-22-05 at 3:33 a.m.

Public Intoxication: A UT student was found passed out while "curled up around a No Parking sign." The student believed he was on 6th Street and claimed that he had not been sleeping. The student was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself. The student's running vehicle was found with the windows rolled down a few parking spaces away. One of the vehicle's tires showed recent damage.

Noncriminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, UTPD responded to 19 alarm calls, 9 unsecured doors, 11 suspicious activity reports, 1 collision, 3 medical emergencies and 1 public assist request between 5-20-05 and 5-23-05.
