Blanton Dormitory, 2500 University

Occurred between 5-2-05 at 12 noon and 5-4-05 at 2:00 p.m.

Theft: A black Specialized bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a cable lock to a bicycle rack located on the west side of the dormitory. The bicycle was stamped with the owner's social security number. Loss value: $500.00.

Crime Prevention Tip

Never mark your property with your social security number. Police departments do not have access to the social security number database. Instead, engrave or stamp your state issued driver's license or ID number onto two surfaces of your property.

Brackenridge Apartments, 3357 Lake Austin Blvd.

Occurred on two separate dates: 5-8-05 and 5-16-05.

Assault / Family Violence / Criminal Mischief: A non-UT subject assaulted the sister of her ex-boyfriend after arguing with her about privacy issues and house keeping duties. The non-UT subject was evicted from the apartment but was later allowed to return. Upon her return a Dell Inspiron laptop computer, and Sony Cyber shot digital camera were destroyed. Loss value: $1,500.

Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall

Discovered on 5-19-05 at 5:58 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: The north exterior emergency door was discovered damaged after being forced open when the hinge pins were removed. Loss value: $50.00.

San Jacinto Parking Garage, 2401 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 5-19-05 between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Leaving the Scene Collision: The right back quarter panel of a Mazda 626 was struck by an unknown vehicle which left the scene without leaving any driver information. Loss value: $300.00.

San Jacinto Parking Garage, 2401 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred between 5-18-05 at 7:30 a.m. and 5-19-05 at 5:15 p.m.

Theft: A black and grey Schwinn mountain bicycle was stolen from the bicycle racks on the first level after being secured with a cable and combination lock. Loss value: $200.00.

Occurred at various times.

Noncriminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, UTPD responded to 11 alarm calls, 4 suspicious activity reports, 1 collision, 1 medical emergency, 1 stuck elevator and 1 public assist request between 5-19-05 and 5-20-05.
