Battle Hall, #1 West Mall
Occurred on 4-3-05 at 8:15 a.m.
Public Intoxication: While on foot patrol, a UT Police Officer heard "loud moaning" in the area of the east side of the building. The officer located a non-UT subject who was at the bottom of a two level tiered landscaping area which is surrounded at the top by a retention wall. The Austin Fire Department was required to assist in rescuing the subject, who was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself. Austin-Travis County EMS transported the subject to a local emergency room for treatment of injuries.
Occurred on 4-3-05 at 5:20 p.m.
Assist Outside Agency: A UT student was stopped for driving a 2000 Honda Civic with an expired inspection sticker. The student was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for a traffic violation.
Brazos Garage, 210 East Martin Luther King Blvd.
Occurred between 3-30-05 at 8:00 p.m. and 3-31-05 at 1:30 p.m.
Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The trunk to an unsecured 1995 Mazda 2-door was opened. Two tennis rackets, a speaker box with two 12" speakers and a Kicker amplifier were stolen from the trunk of the vehicle. Loss value: $370.00.
Disch-Falk Field, 1300 East Martin Luther King Blvd.
Occurred on 4-2-05 at 2:10 p.m.
Assault by Contact: A non-UT subject, who was feeling patriotic during the playing of the pre-game National Anthem, leaned forward and used his own hat to "slap" the hat off of the head of a subject he believed to be a male. The female wearer of the hat was not injured by the assault.
Crime prevention Tip: Regardless of how disrespectful you may think someone else is being, keep in mind your rights end where someone else's rights begin. In Texas, you can not make physical contact with someone if that contact is unwelcome and the contact could be construed as offensive.
Occurred on 4-2-05 at 2:29 a.m.
Theft (2 counts) / Evading (2 counts) / Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor (2 counts) / Public Intoxication (2 counts): Two UT students, who were both under the age of 21, were observed carrying a total of four property for sale signs as they walked on the sidewalk. As UT Police Officers approached the students and ordered them to stop, the students decided to forsake their interest in real estate, threw the signs down and began to flee on foot. The officers pursued the students for a short distance before they were able to stop them. Both students were found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point they were a physical endangerment to themselves. The signs had been stolen from several west campus locations.
Main Building, #1 South Mall
Occurred on 4-2-05 at 7:30 p.m.
Criminal Trespass / Public Intoxication / Evading: A non-UT subject walked by an Event Staff Member who was securing a temporary stage on the south side of the building during a 40 Acres concert. The subject ignored the staff member's commands to stop and walked onto the stage during the concert. The subject removed his shirt and began to dance on the stage. The subject's impromptu performance came to a quick end when he fled from an approaching officer. The subject was chased for several blocks where he was found hiding in some shrubbery. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself.
Manor Garage, 2017 Robert Dedman Drive
Occurred on 3-31-05 between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Criminal Mischief: An unknown object was used to cause two dents on the top of a tailgate of a Ford F-150 pick-up truck while it was parked on the first level of the garage. Repair cost: $300.00.
Mezes Hall, #5 South Mall
Discovered on 4-4-05 at 1:20 a.m.
Graffiti: A blue paint pen was used to write words and draw a symbol on several walls inside a 1st floor men's restroom. Removal cost: $30.00.
Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall
Occurred on 4-3-05 at 7:20 a.m.
Criminal Trespass / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found sleeping in a 2nd floor women's restroom that was closed to the public at that time. The subject was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for skating on a sidewalk. In addition to other law enforcement action taken, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
San Antonio Garage, 2420 San Antonio
Discovered on 4-3-05 at 5:15 p.m.
Graffiti: Green spray paint, black spray paint, a red permanent marker, a black permanent marker and a white paint pen were used to write words and draw symbols on several exterior and interior walls throughout the parking garage. Removal cost: $75.00.
2100 San Gabriel
Occurred on 4-4-05 at 1:57 a.m.
Public Intoxication: A UT student telephoned the UT Police Department to report a male subject who had been following her and her friend on a bicycle. A UT Police Officer located the subject and observed the subject fall off of the bicycle he was riding and into the roadway. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself or others. The subject stated he had borrowed the bicycle from a friend, but he could not recall the name of his friend or where his friend lived.
Crime Prevention Tip
The female students in this case did exactly what you need to do in such a situation: they ran from the subject who was following them and immediately used their cellphone to contact the police department.

Occurred on 4-3-05 at 5:00 a.m.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A UT student was stopped for driving left of the center line while driving a 2002 GMC Yukon. The student was found to be in possession of a green ceramic pipe containing burned marijuana residue.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor (2 counts): Two UT students, who were both under the age of 21, were found "staggering" as they walked. Both students were found to have consumed alcoholic beverages.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor / Public Intoxication / Possession of More than One Valid Driver's License: A UT student, who was under the age of 21, was found sitting on a cement planter box yelling obscenities at another UT student who was attempting to assist her walking home. Both students were found to have consumed alcoholic beverages. The underage student was found to be in possession of another's valid driver's license. The student was unable to stand without support and was very belligerent. That student was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point she was a physical endangerment to herself.
Sutton Hall, 210 West 21st Street
Discovered on 4-2-05 at 8:00 a.m.
Criminal Mischief: A clear adhesive was inserted into the key holes of the exterior doors to the building. Repair cost: $300.00.
Union Building, #4 West Mall
Occurred on 4-2-05 at 10:52 p.m.
Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found in the building on several occasions causing a disturbance during an attempt to see a musician who was performing in the building. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
West Mall Office Building, #3 West Mall
Occurred on 3-17-05 between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Theft: An apple, a glass coffee pot and a box of green tea were stolen from an unsecured 6th floor break room. Loss value: $10.00.
100 East 21st Street
Occurred on 4-3-05 at 4:38 a.m.
Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor (2 counts): Two UT students, both under the age of 21, were found "swaying back and forth" as they walked. One of the students walked into a fire hydrant located beside the sidewalk. Both students were found to have consumed alcoholic beverages.
300 West 21st Street
Occurred on 4-2-05 at 3:00 a.m.
Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor (2 counts): A UT student was stopped for operating a motor vehicle at night without the vehicle's headlamps turned on. Two passengers inside the vehicle, both UT students under the age of 21, were found to have consumed alcoholic beverages.

Occurred on 4-3-05 at 5:05 a.m.
Public Intoxication / Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT student, who was under the age of 21, was found sleeping in a landscape planter box located on the side of the road. The student was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself.
Occurred at various times.
Noncriminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, UTPD responded to 19 alarm calls, 7 unsecured door reports, 5 suspicious activity reports, 2 medical emergency calls and 14 public assist calls between 4-1-05 and 4-4-05.
