Performing Arts Center, 510 East 23rd Street

Occurred on 5-21-04 between 4:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Theft: An olive green Guess wallet containing $200.00 and various credit and identification cards was stolen from a camera bag that was left unsecured on the east side of the building while the owner took photographs after a graduation ceremony. Prior to the credit cards being cancelled, an unauthorized charge for the amount of $44.00 was made at a "fast food" establishment. Loss value: $230.00.

Discovered on 5-24-04 at 7:45 a.m.

Graffiti: A marker with gold ink was used to write a word on the east exterior wall. Removal cost: $75.00.

Occurred on 5-24-04 between 3:50 p.m. and 4:05 p.m.

Suspicious Person: A UT staff member found an unidentified subject in the staff member's 3rd floor office. When the staff member asked if he could help the subject, the subject said "no" then left the building. Within a few minutes, a subject matching the same description was seen in a 2nd floor student lounge of Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building A, 2504 Whitis. A staff member inside the communication center found the subject with his "hands on her purse." The subject stated he was there to meet another subject on the 3rd floor but could not recall the other subject's name. The subject left after the staff member checked the contents of her purse. The subject was described as a black male, stocky build, wearing a black t-shirt and black pants.
