Development Office Building, 2901 North IH-35
Original incident occurred on 5-16-04.
Theft (Follow-up): As reported in the 5-20-04 edition of the Campus Watch, a theft of a wallet occurred in an unsecured 2nd floor office on 5-19-04 between 9:00 am and 10:15 am. On 5-20-04 at 8:04 am, the reporting person made a follow-up report and advised a credit card that was in the stolen wallet was used to make two unauthorized purchases at a nearby gas station. During the second interview, it was discovered that an unidentified subject claiming to be with the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company entered the office during the time frame of the theft. The subject stated he was there to "test the phone lines." It was later determined that the building does not use Southwestern Bell telephone lines. The subject was described as a white male, 40 to 50 years of age, 5'9" to 6' tall, medium to stocky build, with brown curly hair (possibly a wig) and wearing a white hard-hat with SBC printed on it, a red plaid shirt and blue jeans.
