Brackenridge Apartments, 3350 Lake Austin

Occurred between 4-27-04 at 9:00 p.m. and 4-28-04 at 8:30 a.m.

Burglary: The stereo console was damaged and partially removed, and the faceplate from the stereo was left on the front seat of an unsecured 1989 Toyota Corolla. Repair cost: $100.00.

Brazos Garage, 200 East Martin Luther King Blvd.

Occurred on 4-28-04 at 2:00 p.m.

Theft of Service: A green 2000 Ford Excursion was seen "tailgating" another vehicle to exit the parking garage without paying. The vehicle had been seen doing this on several occasions. Loss value: $32.00.

Colorado Building, 702 Colorado

Discovered on 4-29-04 at 2:00 a.m.

Graffiti: A white paint pen was used to write symbols on a drainpipe on the north side of the building. Removal cost: $40.00.

Kinsolving Dormitory, 2609 Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 4-28-04 at 8:55 p.m.

Suspicious Activity: Two UT students reported that a "suspicious person" was following them from the bicycle rack on the west side of the building, asking them questions about their hairstyles and inviting them to his salon. When the students went into the dormitory, the subject sat on a bench outside. The students called for the police, but the subject was gone when the police arrived. The subject was described as a white male, 5'8" tall, 180 pounds with blonde curly hair, wearing a tan t-shirt, khaki cargo pants, and carrying a brown backpack.

Living Learning Center C, 2610 Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 4-29-04 from 12:30 a.m. to 1:25 a.m.

Harassment: A UT student reported receiving unwanted, annoying and profane instant messages from two unknown parties.

Parking Lot 41, 2200 Red River

Occurred on 4-28-04 between 8:45 a.m. and 3:33 p.m.

Burglary of Vehicle: A 32" gold-colored aluminum softball bat, a Wilson light-colored leather outfielder's softball glove, approximately 50-55 compact discs from various artists, a black nylon compact disc case, $5.00 in US coins, a Texas state vehicle inspection sticker and a Texas state vehicle registration sticker were stolen from a secured 2002 white Saturn. Method of entry into the vehicle is unknown at this time.

Prather Hall Dormitory, 305 East 21st

Occurred on 4-27-04 between 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. Reported on 4-28-04 at 4:00 p.m.

Credit Card Abuse: A UT student lost his UT student identification card, which contained Bevo Bucks. Before he could cancel his card, it was used to make 11 unauthorized purchases for $58.65. Loss value: $58.65.

Physical Plant #1, 1309 East Dean Keeton

Occurred on 4-28-04 at 11:40 a.m.

Theft / Credit Card Abuse: A wallet containing several credit cards was stolen from a purse lying unattended next to a desk in an unsecured 1st floor office. A suspect described as a black male, 5'5", 180 pounds, wearing a blue shirt and dark pants was seen in the area. The owner of the wallet was contacted by a local business soon after they discovered the wallet stolen, and told that a subject matching the description of the suspect was attempting to purchase items with one of her credit cards.

George I. Sánchez Building, 1912 Speedway

Occurred between 4-7-04 and 4-28-04 at 12:00 p.m.

Theft: A mouse for a Macintosh G3 computer was stolen from an unsecured 3rd floor cubicle, and an optical mouse was stolen from a secured 3rd floor office. Loss value: $100.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 4-28-04 at 6:23 p.m.

Suspicious Activity / Assist Outside Agency / Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was reported being in a 1st floor men's restroom for over an hour. When officers responded and questioned the subject, it was determined that he had an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant. In addition to other police action taken, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Walter Webb Hall, 2500 Guadalupe

Occurred on 4-28-04 at 9:10 p.m.

Criminal Trespass / Resisting Arrest: A non-UT subject, who is a known offender, was found sleeping in the lower level garage area of the building. The subject was previously issued a criminal trespass warning when found sleeping in another garage. The subject had to be physically restrained by three officers.

300 East 23rd

Occurred on 4-28-04 at 3:35 p.m.

Leaving the Scene Collision: 2 UT students and a non-UT subject reported seeing a green Ford pickup truck strike a black Honda damaging the left rear bumper and breaking the taillight, while the pickup truck was trying to leave a parking space. The driver of the pickup drove away from the scene without leaving contact information.
