Theft: A Canon Power Shot A70 digital camera was stolen from a table in the library where it was left for "about 15 minutes". Loss value: $150.00.
Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River
Occurred on 2-4-04 at 3:58 a.m.
Suspicious Persons: Five UT-subjects were seen camping in a tent on the sidewalk, in front of the south entrance doors. This was a violation of the UT Regents' Rules and Regulations regarding camping on campus and the Fire Marshal's code regarding blocking an exit.
J.J. Pickle Research Campus, 10100 Burnet Road
Occurred on 12-19-03 between 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Reported on 2-3-04.
Theft: A plastic case containing a Dewalt Model DW987 18 volt cordless drill, a charger, 2 batteries, drill bits, and a claw hammer was stolen from a secured mechanical room in the MICROELECTRONICS and ENGINEERING RESEARCH BUILDING. Loss value: $206.00.
Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st
Occurred on 2-3-04 at 9:45 p.m.
Possession of Marijuana (1 count)/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 counts): Two UT-students were found to be in possession 2 glass pipes (1 each) containing marijuana residue, and one student was found to be in possession of a blue zippered pouch containing 1/10th ounce of marijuana.
Performing Arts Center, 510 East 23rd Street
Occurred on 2-3-04 at 1:11 p.m.
Assault on a Public Servant / Evading Arrest or Detention: A UTPD officer attempted to stop a non-UT subject who was seen driving the wrong way on a one way street, and parking in a restricted access area. The subject refused to obey commands from the UTPD officer and struck the officer with his closed fist in an attempt to leave.
Townes Hall, 727 East Dean Keeton
Occurred on 2-3-04 at 10:38 a.m.
Evading Arrest or Detention: A non-UT subject was reported wandering around a third floor office area. When a UTPD officer arrived, he saw someone matching the description of the suspicious person on the north side of the building. The non-UT subject gave vague answers to the officer's questions, and then attempted to flee.
Occurred on 2-3-04 at 2:25 p.m.
Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was reported selling magazine subscriptions on Campus, a violation of the UT Board of Regents' Rules and Regulations regarding solicitation. The salesman referred to a prospective female customer with a derogatory term, which likely affected the sale and led to the reporting of the solicitation. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
University of Texas Elementary School, 2200 East 6th Street
