Burdine Hall, 2505 University

Occurred on 11-13-03 between 12 noon and 1:30 p.m.

Theft: A black nylon LL Bean shoulder bag containing a Palm Pilot ZI071 electronic organizer in a black vinyl case, a silver Palm Pilot keyboard, an Otis MP3 player in a black vinyl case and a library book was stolen out of an unsecured 4th floor office. Loss value: $545.00.

Engineering-Science Building, 2501 Speedway

Occurred on 11-13-03 at 3:26 p.m.

Disorderly Conduct - Fighting (2 Counts): Two UT students began to argue on the west exterior plaza of the building as one of the students thought the other student was "looking at him strangely." The student who thought he was being looked at strangely poured a soft-drink on the other student and attempted to remove the other student's eyeglasses. The two students then began to exchange punches and wrestled until the altercation was broken up by an unidentified subject.

Gregory Gymnasium, 2101 Speedway

Occurred on 11-13-093 at 4:07 p.m.

Criminal Trespass / Failure to Identify / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found in the 2nd floor gymnasium annex without a valid Rec Sports Pass. The subject provided several different names to police officers. The subject was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for assault-domestic violence.

Music and Bates Recital Hall, 2405 Trinity

Occurred on 11-13-03 between 9:10 a.m. and 9:20 a.m.

Theft: A Sony Hi-8 video camera was stolen when it was left for 10 minutes in an unsecured 2nd floor classroom while the owner was 25-feet "down the hall" inviting students to the classroom. Loss value: $400.00.

Robert A. Welch Hall, 105 East 24th Street

Occurred between 11-9-03 at 2:00 p.m. and 11-9-03 at approximately 6:00 p.m.

Theft: A blue Trek hybrid bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a cable lock to a bicycle rack on the west side of the building. Loss value: $250.00.

2600 Speedway

Occurred on 11-13-03 between 1:00 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.

Theft: A red, white and chrome colored motorcycle helmet was stolen while it was secured with "bungy cords" to a parked 2002 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6 motorcycle. Loss value: $175.00.

27th Street Garage, 109 West 27th Street

Occurred on 11-14-03 at 4:00 a.m.

Suspicious Person: While walking to Kinsolving Dormitory, 2605 Whitis, a UT student observed a subject standing on the top level of the garage while holding an object behind his back. The subject later approached the student in a Parking Lot and displayed an 18" axe. The student continued to walk to Kinsolving Dormitory and noticed the subject was following her. When the student began to make a cellular telephone call, the subject changed directions and began to walk southbound. The subject was described as a white male in his early 30's, 5'10" tall, bald with some stubble, scruffy beard, wearing black slacks, a gray sweater and a trench coat.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 11-13-03 at 11:16 p.m.

Public Intoxication / Criminal Trespass / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A non-UT subject was found sleeping inside the 2nd floor movie theatre. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself. The subject was found to be in possession of a black and silver ceramic pipe that contained burned marijuana residue. In addition to other law enforcement action, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 11-13-03 between 4:50 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Theft: A purple Jansport backpack containing $97.00 and two credit cards was stolen from the floor of a 3rd floor lounge while the owner slept in a chair. Loss value: $110.00.

University Teaching Center, 105 West 21st Street

Occurred on 11-12-03 between 9:00 a.m. and 9:53 a.m.

Theft: A purple wallet containing $8.00, a red, green and yellow Tommy-Hilfiger keychain and various identification cards was stolen from a student desk in an unsecured 2nd floor classroom while a class was in session. Loss value: $9.00.
