Centennial Park, 1620 Red River

Occurred on 11-8-03 at 10:20 a.m.

Criminal trespass (4 counts): Four non-UT subjects were found sleeping under a pedestrian bridge. All four subjects were issued written criminal trespass warnings.

Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Building, 200 East Dean Keeton

Occurred between 11-1-03 at 7:00 a.m. and 11-2-03 at 7:00 a.m.

Theft: Two 15-inch bicycle tires were stolen from a "stunt" bicycle while the bicycle was secured to a bicycle rack on the west side of the building. Loss value: $80.00.

Ernest Cockrell Jr. Hall, 301 East Dean Keeton

Occurred on 11-9-03 between 3:40 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.

Theft: A textbook was stolen from a first floor library study cubicle. The owner of the stolen textbook observed a subject loitering in the area. The subject matched the description of a theft suspect out of Perry-Castañeda Library (see below). Loss value: $75.00.

Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Occurred on 11-9-03 at 3:15 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping by the west entrance to the building. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Gregory Gymnasium, 2101 Speedway

Occurred on 11-7-03 between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Theft: A black leather Armani wallet containing $52.00 and various identification and credit cards was stolen when it was left on the bleachers in the basketball court annex while the owner played basketball. Loss value: $57.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 203 East 21st Street

Occurred between 11-4-03 at 12 noon and 11-6-03 at 5:00 a.m.

Theft: A red Roadmaster bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a cable lock to a bicycle rack on the west side of the building. Loss value: $100.00.

Geology Building, #10 East Mall

Occurred between 11-6-03 at 5:00 p.m. and 11-7-03 at 6:50 a.m.

Theft: A Proxima LCD model 9260+ ceiling mounted projector was stolen from an unsecured 2nd floor classroom. Loss value: $5,000.00.

Music and Bates Recital Hall, 2405 Trinity

Occurred on 11-7-03 between 4:10 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.

Theft: A UT staff member reported the theft of a G4 Apple Powerbook Laptop computer from an unsecured 2nd floor office. Two separate witnesses provided similar descriptions of a subject standing outside of the office and later placing a silver laptop inside of a bag while on the exterior of the building. One of the witnesses advised the subject had dreadlock style hair. A non-UT subject matching the description given was found 33rd street and Guadalupe. The subject was found to be in possession of the stolen laptop computer and a knit cap with a dreadlock style wig sown into the hat's seam. Recovery value: $1,400.00.

Parking Lot 103, 2100 Comal Street

Occurred on 11-8-03 between 12:30 a.m. and 2:20 a.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The right rear window was broken out of a green 1995 Chevrolet pick-up truck while it was parked and unattended. An AM / FM / CD stereo was stolen from the vehicle. Repair cost: $150.00. Loss value: $100.00.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 11-9-03 between 3:30 p.m. and 3:40 p.m.

Theft: A black Eddie Bauer backpack containing two notebooks, a textbook, a physics lab notebook and a chemistry lab notebook was stolen from a 4th floor study cubicle. The textbook was sold to a local buy-back bookstore within one hour of the theft. The subject attempted to sell two more stolen textbooks before being stopped by store security. The subject who sold the textbook is described as a white female, 27 to 29 years old, 5'7" tall, long "dirty blonde hair and wearing a green sweatshirt and blue jeans. The subject fled the area in a black 2002 Honda 2-door that had "front end damage." Loss value: $75.00.

San Antonio Garage, 2420 San Antonio

Discovered on 11-8-03 at 6:10 p.m.

Graffiti: Silver paint was used to write letters on the north exterior doors. Removal cost: $50.00.

Trinity Garage, 1815 Trinity

Occurred on 11-2-03 at 8:48 a.m.

Theft (2 counts): A red Specialized Rock Hopper bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a cable lock to a bicycle rack on the ground floor west exit gate. A blue Raleigh M-50 bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a cable lock to the same bicycle rack. A parking garage surveillance camera showed two male subjects cutting the locks from the bicycles. The subjects are described as Hispanic males, early 30's, between 5' 5" and 6' tall, thin build, no facial hair, medium length dark hair. Loss value: $500.00.
