Battle Hall, #1 West Mall

Occurred on 3-19-03 at 4:15 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: Two non-UT subjects were found in a first floor area that was reserved for students, faculty and staff. Both were issued written criminal trespass warnings.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 3-20-03 at 12:36 a.m.

Public Intoxication / Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor / Attempted Assault on a Public Servant: A UT student under the age of 21 was found in a 10th floor hallway under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was an endangerment to himself. The student was incoherent, uncooperative and combative. Austin Emergency Medical Services and the Austin Fire Department Emergency Medical Services responded. The student attempted to strike an Austin fireman with his fist while the fireman was trying to treat the student. The student was physically restrained and then transported to the hospital due to alcohol poisoning.

Trinity Garage, 1815 Trinity

Occurred between 3-7-03 at 2:00 p.m. and 3-17-03 at 12:30 p.m.

Theft: A white Raleigh M60 bicycle was stolen from a bicycle rack on the northwest side of the building while it was secured with a cable lock. Loss value: $200.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred between 3-3-03 at 12 noon to 3-18-03 at 12 noon.

Theft: A black and silver Centurion bicycle was stolen from a bicycle rack on the southeast side of the building while it was secured with a large U-shaped lock. Loss value: $300.00.

West Mall

Occurred on 3-19-03 at 11:55 p.m.

Criminal Mischief / Criminal Trespass: Two UT students and one non-UT subject were observed using chalk to write anti-war messages on the sidewalk and building walls on the south side of the Union Building. Some of the messages measured 5-feet by 10-feet. The chalk found in their possession was the same colors of chalk that was used to write anti-war messages that had just been found in several areas and on various surfaces on the South Mall around Calhoun Hall, Homer Rainey Hall and on the north side of the Main Building. All subjects were issued criminal field release citations of Criminal Mischief and written criminal trespass warnings that barred them from campus for 24 hours. Removal cost: $200.00.
