Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 2-14-03 at 1:30 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found on the fifth floor during a time when the library is closed to the public. The subject stated he believed he could live in the library. The subject had previously been issued a written criminal trespass warning for living in another UT building.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 2-13-03 between 6:40 p.m. and 7:10 p.m.

Theft: Four Textbooks entitled "Focus on Grammar", "Interactions 2 Reading", "SOS 7200" and "Best 20" were stolen when they were left unattended on an open study table located on the North side of the sixth floor. Loss amount: $110.00.

Student Services Building, 100 West Dean Keeton

Occurred on 2-13-03 at approximately 4:30 p.m.

Theft: A Kyocera Cell phone (model 2255, blue and gray in color) was stolen when it was left unsecured and unattended by a third floor lobby chair. The owner left the cell phone by the chair for less than five minutes. Loss value: $50.00.

South Mall, 200 East 21st Street

Discovered on 2-14-03 at 2:51 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: Brown paint was spread on the pedestal of the Robert E. Lee Statue. The paint was still wet when it was discovered. An open gallon sized can of "Ralph Lauren" paint was located near the statue. The paint can contained the same color paint as that found on the pedestal of the statue. Removal Costs: $50.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 2-14-03 at 1:55 a.m.

Fighting in a Public Place / Assault with Bodily Injury: A fight broke out between a UT student and a non-UT subject at a student dance when the non-UT subject bumped into the UT student while dancing. During the fight, the non-UT subject lost three teeth when the UT student punched him in the mouth. The non-UT subject was transported to the hospital.
