Kinsolving Dormitory, 2605 Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 12-5-02 at 6:20 p.m.

Theft: A witness observed an unknown subject get out of a red Jeep Cherokee that had stopped by the east side loading dock. The subject got three to four milk carton crates from the loading dock and put them in the vehicle. The vehicle was last seen traveling westbound in the 500 block of west Dean Keeton. Loss value: $15.00 to $20.00.

Music and Bates Recital Hall, 2405 Trinity

Last occurrence: 12-5-02 at 2:30 p.m.

Harassment: A male UT student has been sending offensive and annoying letters to a female UT student. Subject has shown up several times at a class the complainant has on the third floor.

Parking Garage #2, 2420 San Antonio

Occurred on 12-5-02 at 11:20 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: A black Chevrolet Blazer was videotaped driving out the northwest exit gate. The driver had paid for his parking but was unable to get the exit control arm to work. The driver proceeded to drive through the exit control arm causing it to break and the motor housing mechanism to bend. It was later determined that a vehicle that had exited prior to the Blazer had forced the control arm up to exit, making it inoperable by breaking a pin in the control arm that cost $10.00. The Blazer, by crashing through the control arm caused $400.00 in damages. Three other subjects were also seen in the vehicle.

Parking Lot 114, 2100 Leona Street

Occurred on 12-5-02 at 4:08 p.m.

Criminal Trespass / Assist an Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was observed looking into a vehicle that was parked in the Parking Lot. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning. Subject was found to have two outstanding outside agency arrest warrants for failing to appear for arrests involving driving while intoxicated and public intoxication.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 12-5-02 between 11:05 a.m. and 11:10 a.m.

Theft: A grey Jansport backpack was stolen from a fifth floor study cubicle that was located just east of the elevators. The backpack was later found on the fifth floor "in the back far corner." The only thing stolen from the backpack was a brown colored leather wallet that contained $15.00 cash, assorted credit cards and identification cards. Loss value: $25.00.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 12-5-02 between 12:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Theft: A dark green Magna bicycle was stolen from the north side of the building while it was secured to a light pole with a cable lock. A headlight was attached to the handlebars with a rusty coat hanger. Loss value: $100.00.
