Blanton Dormitory, 2500 University Avenue
Occurred between 12-3-02 at 7:05 p.m. and 12-4-02 at 11:00 a.m.
Theft: A yellow Mongoose bicycle was stolen from a bicycle rack that was located on the west side of the quadrangle while it was secured with a chain and barrel lock. The bicycle had black front and rear forks along with front and rear shocks. Loss value: $200.00.
Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building A, 2504A Whitis Avenue
Occurred between 12-2-02 at 3:00 p.m. and 12-4-02 at 12:54 p.m.
Theft: A SC-L610 Samsung 8MM Hi8 video camera was stolen from a fifth floor office that is occupied by four graduate students. It is unknown at this time if the office was locked when it was unoccupied during which time the theft could have occurred. Loss value: $200.00.
Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building. B, 2504B Whitis Avenue
Occurred on 12-4-02 between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Theft: A black Nokia cellular telephone was stolen when it was left in a second floor room where a class had been held. Loss value: $50.00.
Beauford H. Jester Center, 2003 Speedway
Occurred on 10-29-02.
Theft by Check: A non-UT subject who was barely acquainted with a UT student told the student that his car had been towed from Jester and he needed $200.00 to get his car out of the tow yard. The student withdrew the money from an ATM machine at Jester and gave it to the subject in exchange for a personal check. It was later determined that the checking account did not exist and the telephone number the subject gave was not his. Subject is known to frequent the public computers in the Peter T. Flawn Academic Center and had been seen loitering around Guadalupe by the university campus. Subject is described as a black male, college age, 6'1", black hair and weighs approximately 200 pounds.
Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street
Occurred on 12-4-02 between 2:30 p.m. and 2:40 p.m.
Theft: A purple and blue "Micro Economics" textbook and an economics packet was stolen from a desk that was located on the sixth floor. Loss value: $50.00.
Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall
Occurred on 12-4-02 at 11:05 p.m.
Criminal Trespass: An unidentified white female attempted to enter the 1st floor library after she presented a UT student identification card that had been issued to a white male. Subject left the area before UT police arrived. Subject was further described as being approximately 20 years of age, 5'6", 110 pounds with long brown hair and brown eyes.
Sid Richardson Hall, Building. #3, 2300 Red River
Occurred on 12-4-02 at 1:12 p.m.
Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was seen wandering the second floor looking in offices, stopping females and making comments to them "that made them feel uncomfortable and unsafe." Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
Union Building, #4 West Mall
Occurred on 12-4-02 at 10:30 p.m.
Disorderly Conduct - Fighting: A witness observed two unknown subjects "rhyming at each other" in the Ball Room. Subjects were surround by a group of onlookers. For unknown reasons, both subjects began hitting each other. Three additional fights broke out as onlookers attempted to break up the original fight. All combatants left the area before UT police arrived. One of the combatants was described as a Hispanic male, 20 years of age, 6'1" and weighed approximately 180 pounds. Subject was last seen wearing a dark colored "skull cap." The second subject was described as a Hispanic male, 20 years of age, 5'10", black hair cut in a "fade" and weighed approximately 160 pounds. Subject was last seen wearing a dark sweater and blue jeans.
