Applied Computational Engineering and Sciences Building (ACES), 201 East 24th Street

Occurred on 12-3-02 at 3:15 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A UT student was found to be camping in the sixth floor stairwell. Subject was found asleep in a sleeping bag. Subject had food and other personal items with him. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Art Building and Museum, 2301 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred between 11-27-02 at 3:00 p.m. and 12-2-02 at 7:00 a.m.

Theft: A brown 12" x 6" 3M tape dispenser gun was stolen from a secured first floor mechanical room. "Shop #99" and "5-9790" was etched on the handle. Loss value: $10.00.

Colorado Apartments, 2501 Lake Austin Blvd.

Occurred on 12-4-02 at 3:40 a.m.

Public Intoxication / Assist an Outside Agency: UT police responded to reports of a subject screaming. A non-UT subject was found at a gas station next to the apartment complex. Subject admitted to being the one that was screaming for no apparent reason. Subject was found under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was an endangerment to himself. An Austin police officer arrived at the scene because he was responding to a window alarm at the gas station. Subject was released to the Austin police officer.

Parking Garage #5, 2017 Robert Dedman Drive

Occurred on 12-3-02 at 4:25 p.m.

Theft of Services: A black SUV Lexus driven by a UT student was videotaped exiting the southwest side of the parking garage without paying the parking fee by following another vehicle through the exit. Loss value: $32.00.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 12-3-02 between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Theft: A "6th Edition Sullivan Pre-Calculus" textbook was stolen when it was left unattended on a 4th floor table. Loss value: $35.00.

Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall

Discovered on 12-3-02 at 7:45 a.m.

Graffiti: A red felt marker was used to draw an 8" x 6" symbol on the inside of the door to elevator #2. Removal cost: $30.00.

Robert Lee Moore Hall, 2515 Speedway

Occurred on 12-3-02 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Theft: A blue 21-speed Pantira GT bicycle was stolen from a bicycle rack that was located on the east side of the building when it was left unsecured. Loss value: $150.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 12-3-02 at 2:10 p.m.

Criminal Trespass / Assist an Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found on the third floor in an area that is reserved for faculty, staff and students. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning. Subject was found to have three outstanding outside agency arrest warrants. One arrest warrant was for assault with bodily injury and two arrest warrants were for traffic violations.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Discovered on 12-3-02 at 11:00 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: A sharp instrument was used to scratch several lines on a wall in the northeast men's restroom. Repair cost: $25.00.

W.R. Woolrich Laboratories, 210 East 24th Street

Occurred on 12-3-02 at 9:00 p.m.

Theft: A UT student was working at a computer station in a second floor computer lab when she had trouble with the computer. She moved to another computer. About one minute later she heard a noise by the computer she had just moved away from and where she had left her wallet that had a set of house and car keys attached. She observed an unknown subject, who had been sitting next to her at the original computer, leave the lab. At this time she found that her wallet and keys had been stolen. The staff in the lab videotapes the activity in the lab. Subject was described as an Asian male, 20 years of age (possible graduate student), 5'10", thin build with black hair and brown eyes. The wallet was black leather with a longhorn embossed on it. The wallet contained several credit cards and identification cards. Loss value: $2.00.
