Art Building and Museum, 2301 San Jacinto Blvd.

Discovered on 11-25-02 at 9:15 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: Black and red felt markers were used to draw rectangular shapes on two walls inside a first floor men's restroom. Removal cost: $100.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 203 East 21st Street

Occurred between 11-24-02 at 5:00 p.m. and 11-25-02 at 10:00 a.m.

Theft: Thirty dollars cash was stolen from a purse that was left in a secured ninth floor dormitory room. There was an additional $83.00 cash in the purse that was not taken.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 11-25-02 at 4:15 p.m.

Con Game / Criminal Trespass: Two non-UT subjects were found to be running a shell game in the courtyard and in the lobby. The subjects had a green board. They would place a small rubber ball under one of three bottle caps, shuffle the bottle caps around and have people bet on where the rubber ball was. Subjects were issued written criminal trespass warnings.

Occurred between 1:45 a.m. and 2:55 a.m.

Harassing Communication: An unknown male subject made several annoying telephone calls to a fifth floor dormitory room.

Moffett Molecular Biology Building, 2500 Speedway

Occurred on 11-26-02 between 11-24-02 at 8:00 a.m. and 11-25-02 at 8:00 a.m.

Graffiti: A blue felt marker was used to write a phrase on the northeast exterior wall. Removal cost: $200.00.

Parking Garage #5, 2017 Robert Dedman Drive

Occurred on 11-25-02 at 6:40 p.m.

Assault: A UT student, while walking by the southwest exit to the garage, was nearly struck by a blue 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe that was exiting the garage at a high rate of speed. When the driver was told he needed to watch out, the driver exited the vehicle, started using abusive and profane language. The driver began jumping and jerking toward the pedestrian, trying to get him to flinch. The driver then shoved the pedestrian, slapped him on the head and threw the pedestrian's hat into the street. The driver got back into his vehicle, saw the pedestrian writing down his license plate and then stated, "You can't do (expletive) with my plates". Registration on vehicle indicates Enterprise Rental owns the car. Driver was described as a white male, college age, 6'2", and 190 lbs with brown hair.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 11-25-02 at 10:15 p.m.

Criminal Mischief / Assist an Outside Agency: A UT student set off the book detector alarm at the first floor exit. A UT library book was found in his backpack that had the card catalog ripped out. Subject was found to have two outstanding outside agency arrest warrants regarding citations issued for minor in possession of alcohol and a traffic violation. Repair cost: $20.00.

Peter T. Flawn Academic Center, #2 West Mall

Discovered on 11-25-02 at 4:37 p.m.

Graffiti: A red felt marking pen was used to write a remark on the wall of elevator #2. Removal cost: $50.00.

Recreational Sports Center, 2001 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 11-25-02 between 12:45 p.m. and 1:15 p.m.

Theft: A mustard yellow Jansport backpack was stolen after it was placed in an unsecured day locker that was located in the first floor weight room. The backpack contained a Nokia 8260 cellular telephone, assorted clothing, assorted keys, two textbooks, assorted papers and a "Ralph Lauren" wallet. The wallet contained $25.00 cash, assorted identification and credit cards. The owner called his cellular telephone number. A male subject answered, said the owner was not available and then hung up. Loss value: $150.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 11-25-02 at 9:15 a.m.

Criminal Trespass / Assist an Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on the third floor in an area that is reserved for faculty, staff and students. Subject had been issued a prior criminal trespass warning. Subject was found to have two outstanding outside agency arrest warrants for theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 11-25-02 between 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

Criminal Mischief: A black 18" x 4" television channel cover plate was broken off of a Phillips television that was located in the northwest corner of the Showroom that is located on the second floor. Replacement cost: $20.00.

23rd and Robert Dedman Drive

Discovered 11-26-02 at 6:57 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: The sign pole on the east side of the intersection was knocked down. The sign pole had been set in concrete in the grass and the sign gave directions to various buildings in the LBJ complex. Repair cost: $200.00.
