Ashbell Smith Hall, 201 West 7th Street

Occurred on 11-22-02 at 1:15 a.m.

Assault by Threat / Assault by Contact: Two non-UT subjects were engaged in construction work on the seventh floor. One subject deliberately struck the other in the chest with an acoustic board resulting in the other subject threatening the first one with imminent bodily injury. Both subjects have a history of animosity toward each other due to how one has treated the other's wife.

Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building A, 721 East Dean Keeton St.

Discovered between 11-20-02 at 10:00 p.m. and 11-21-02 at 11:00 p.m.

Theft: Two black Waterhog floor mats, 4' x 8' and 3' x 5', were found stolen from the first floor north stairwell and by the second floor main entrance doors. Total loss value: $450.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center West, 203 E. 21st St.

Occurred on 1-22-02 at 1:28 a.m.

Criminal Trespass: A male UT student entered a thirteenth floor dorm room that was occupied by two female UT students without their permission. The subject was partially disrobed and began making inappropriate and obscene body gyrations. Subject refused to leave the room. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 E. 21st. St.

Occurred on 11-21-02 at 8:43 p.m.

Attempted Theft: A laptop computer was left unattended in a fourth floor study are for three minutes. When the owner returned and found it missing, he asked an unknown subject sitting across the table if he had seen what happened to his computer. The subject did not reply. When the owner stated that he was going to call UT Police, the subject pulled the laptop from his backpack. The subject was seen leaving through the fourth floor stairwell. Subject was described as a white male, 5'10", thin build, approximately 30 years old, brown mustache and was transient in appearance. Subject was last seen wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans, white T-shirt, blue baseball hat and a skull necklace.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 E. 21st. St.

Occurred on 11-21-02 between 8:30 p.m. and 8:50 p.m.

Theft: A purple Eastpak backpack containing papers, an electronic translator and clothing was stolen when it was left unattended on the 6th floor. The backpack and its contents was recovered on the fifth floor by a UTPD officer.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 11-21-02 at 1:23 p.m.

Theft: A cream colored leather "Mudd" brand purse with a black strap was stolen while the owner was lying on a sofa with her eyes closed. She heard a noise and when she opened her eyes, she saw an unknown subject walking northbound down the hallway with her purse. She followed the subject into a north stairwell. He was one flight down in the stairwell when she called out to him to give her purse back. Subject refused and left the area. The subject was described as a possibly light skinned black or Hispanic male, 18-25 years old, 5'8"-5'11" tall with a medium build. Subject was last seen wearing a red baseball cap and navy jacket. The purse contained a gray velvet coin purse with $5.00 in coins, sunglasses, Texas drivers license, social security card, library card, UT identification card and an AT&T cellular telephone. Loss value: $11.00.
