Brackenridge Apartments, 3353 Lake Austin Blvd.

Occurred between 10-14-02 at 8:00 a.m. and 11-13-02 at 7:30 p.m.

Theft: A blue men's bicycle was stolen from the east side of the building while it was left unsecured. Loss value: $75.00.

Development Office Building, 2901 North IH-35

Occurred on 11-14-02 at 12:20 p.m.

Soliciting: An unknown subject was seen by staff wandering in the building attempting to sell toys. Subject left the area before UT Police arrived. Subject was described as a Hispanic male, in his late teens to early twenties, 5'7", thin build, clean shaven with short black hair. Subject was wearing wire rim glasses. Subject was last seen wearing a red plaid Christmassy-type shirt with tie and khaki pants.

Gregory Gymnasium, 2101 Speedway

Occurred on 11-14-02 between 5:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.

Theft: An orange Gary Fisher Level Betty bicycle was stolen from the bicycle rack on the west side of the building while it was secured with a cable lock. The bicycle had shocks on the front and the rear. There was a picture of "Betty Boop" on the side of the bicycle. Loss value: $1,000.00.

Beauford H. Jester Center East, 203 East 21st Street

Discovered on 11-15-02 at 2:30 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: A concrete trash container was rolled down the hill from the south side of the building into the 200 block of East Jester Circle. A one-foot piece of concrete was broken off of the container. Repair cost: $100.00.

L. Theo Bellmont Hall, 2109 San Jacinto Blvd.

Occurred on 11-12-02 at 9:14 p.m.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found in a third floor men's locker room that is reserved for faculty, staff and Recreational Sports members. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

San Jacinto Residence Hall, 309 East 21st Street

Occurred between 11-13-02 at 4:30 p.m. and 11-14-02 at 7:30 a.m.

Criminal Mischief: A BB gun was used to put a hole in a plate glass window that was located on the southwest end of the second floor, Hall 23 of the south tower. The plate glass window already had a hole in it that had been caused by a BB gun. Two additional BB holes were found in the sheet rock below the window. Repair cost: $50.00.

San Jacinto Residence Hall, 309 East 21st Street

Reported 11-14-02.

Criminal Mischief: The last two rainwater metal downspouts located on the east end of the south wall were crushed because people were using the downspouts as targets while kicking soccer balls. A staff member saw subjects kicking soccer balls at the downspouts a few weeks prior at approximately 4:30 pm. Repair cost: $400.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 1-14-02 between 1:00 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.

Theft: A UT student placed a black backpack with a tan suede bottom next to a couch he laid down on in the Lone Star Room. He fell asleep and when he woke up he found that his backpack had been stolen. The backpack contained a model MVC CD 300 Sony Mavica digital camera, grey wire frame Oakley sunglasses and a Hewlett Packard scientific calculator. Loss value: $800.00.

2000 Speedway

Occurred on 11-15-02 at 4:20 a.m.

Driving While Intoxicated / Consumption of Alcohol By Minor: A UT student, under the age of 21, was stopped for driving a motor vehicle "at a high rate of speed," in excess of the posted speed limit. Subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he failed multiple field sobriety tests and the intoxilyzer test.
