Jesse H. Jones Communication Center, Building A, 2504A Whitis Avenue

Occurred on 8-5-02 between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Theft: Three black 15" Dell LCD computer monitors were stolen from an unsecured third floor computer lab. Loss value: $1,200.00.

Parking Lot 67, 1900 Speedway

Occurred between 7-20-02 and 8-5-02 at 9:44 a.m.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle / Credit Card Abuse: A personal day planner containing multiple credit cards was stolen from a 1985 Honda Civic. The day planner was not missed until the owner was contacted by one of the credit card companies regarding recent charges (fraudulent) on one of the credit cards.

Wooldridge Hall, 600 West 24th Street

Discovered on 8-5-02 at 4:55 p.m.

Graffiti: Black, yellow and white aerosol spray paint was used to write words, names and symbols on a utility storage building and a trash dumpster on the west side of the building. White aerosol spray paint was used to write a gang moniker on the metal stairs going to the 2nd floor that is located on the north side of the building. Removal cost: $300.00.

1900 Northbound IH-35

Occurred on 8-5-02 at 8:00 p.m.

Assist an Outside Agency: A non-UT subject flagged down a UT Police officer in Parking Lot 104. He reported that the driver of a motor vehicle, which had just been involved in a collision on IH-35, had fled the scene on foot. UT Police found this subject in the alley of the 2000 block of Comal. Subject was turned over to Austin Police.
