Occurred on 7-19-02 at 5:00 p.m.
Theft: A UT Police Guard observed a UT student in the Gallery removing pages from a book that is supposed to remain in the Gallery. Subject exited the building with the book pages in his backpack. Recovery value: $5.00.
Garrison Hall, #3 East Mall
Occurred on 7-20-02 at 7:50 p.m.
Criminal Trespass / Evading: Two subjects were found in a first floor restroom engaged in possible lewd activity. One subject ran when officer attempted to stop him. Subject was described as a white male, approximately 20 years of age, 5'11", 170 pounds, black hair, blue eyes, wearing glasses. Subject was last seen wearing a black and white plaid shirt with a white undershirt and khaki shorts. The second subject, who is not affiliated with UT, was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
O. Henry Hall, 601 Colorado
Occurred on 7-20-02 at 2:30 a.m.
Criminal Mischief / Public Intoxication: A UT Police Guard observed a non-UT subject walk up to the northwest exterior window and kick the window causing it to break. Subject then proceeded north to the next set of windows and attempted to break them by kicking them but with negative results. Subject was found to be under the influence of alcohol to the point he was an endangerment to himself. Repair cost: $300.00.
Parking Lot 41, 2200 Red River
Recovered on 7-20-02 at 5:50 p.m.
Assist an Outside Agency: A light blue 1998 Nissan Maxima that had been parking in the lot "for the last few days" had been reported stolen to the Austin Police Department.
Parking Lot 110, 2200 Comal Street
Occurred between 7-19-02 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:10 p.m.
Criminal Mischief: The right rear passenger window was found shattered but still in place on a blue 1991 Honda Civic. Replacement cost: $175.00.
J. T. Patterson Laboratories Building, 2415 Speedway
Occurred on 7-19-02 at 8:05 p.m.
Assault: A female staff member was assaulted outside a third floor men's restroom. An unknown subject grabbed the staff member in a "bear hug" and tried to pull her into the restroom. When the staff member threw cleaning solvent on the offender, the staff member was able to break away. Subject was described as a black male, 25 to 30 years of age, 6', thin build, black hair and brown eyes. Subject was dirty in appearance and "smelled as if he does not bathe." Subject also smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage. Subject was last seen wearing a black stocking cap, a red t-shirt and black slacks.

Occurred between 7-15-02 at 7:00 p.m. and 7-19-02 at 12:02 p.m.
Graffiti: Initials were painted with white paint in three locations on the first and third floor. Removal cost: $50.00.
Union Building, #4 West Mall
Occurred on 7-19-02 at 12:35 p.m.
Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found in an area on the third floor that is restricted for students, faculty, staff and invited guests. Subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.
Wooldridge Hall, 600 West 24th Street
Discovered on 7-20-02 at 8:00 a.m.
Graffiti: Initials were made with yellow aerosol spray paint on a portable structure that is located on the west side of the building. Removal cost: $50.00.
2500 Whitis Avenue
Occurred on 7-19-02 at 11:55 p.m.
Criminal Mischief / Possession of Open Container Containing An Alcoholic Beverage In A Motor Vehicle: A vehicle driven by a non-UT subject was stopped because the driver matched the description of a subject being sought regarding a criminal mischief that occurred in the Texas Union where human excrement was found on the floor of a 1st floor hallway and restroom. It was determined that the driver was the person being sought in the Texas Union offense. Inside the vehicle was found an open bottle containing an alcoholic beverage. Texas Union cleanup cost: $10.00.
