Calhoun Hall, #4 South Mall
Occurred on 7-11-02 at 9:30 p.m.
Strong-arm Robbery: An unidentified subject entered an office on the first floor and asked a staff member for a quarter. The subject then stated to the staff member "If you were killed in this room alone, no one would know." When the staff member said "what", the subject stated, "nothing, just give me a quarter." A building custodian stated that the subject has been seen in the building in the past and leaves when told to do so by the custodian. The custodian has never called UT Police regarding this subject. Subject is described as a white male, 30 to 40 years of age, 5'5", and 190 pounds with brown curly hair. Subject was last seen wearing a sleeveless striped shirt. His clothes were described as dirty.
Experimental Science Building, 100 East 24th Street
Occurred on 7-9-02 between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Theft: A black canvas Ellesse bag, model Nella Vita Sportiva, was stolen from an unsecured fifth floor office. Bag contained clothing and the victim's lunch. Loss value: $15.00.
Gregory Gymnasium, 2101 Speedway
Occurred on 7-11-02 between 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Theft: A Yukon Giant bicycle was stolen after it was left secured with a cable lock to a bicycle rack on the west side of the building. The cut cable lock was found at the scene. Loss value: $400.00.
Occurred on 7-11-02 9:05 a.m.
Criminal Trespass: Two non-UT subjects were found sleeping under the bridge. Both subjects were issued criminal trespass warnings.
100 East 24th Street
Occurred on 7-12-02 at 3:20 a.m.
Minor Consuming Alcohol: A UT student under the age of twenty-one was found under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.
23rd Street at San Jacinto Blvd.
Occurred on 7-11-02 at 4:45 p.m.
Soliciting: A non-UT subject was found selling ice cream from a pushcart in violation of Regent Rules and Regulations. Subject was given a criminal trespass warning.
