Occurred between 5-14-02 at 5:00 p.m. and 5-20-02 at 8:05 a.m.
Theft (Criminal Episode): Over the course of seven days three thefts occurred out of three secured offices on the third floor. The following items were taken:
- 11" × 14" gold framed photograph of the east side of the UT Tower with the fountain in front at night with the tower lit in orange by Mary Doerr
- Bronze colored metal longhorn card holder
- Brass State of Texas paper weight
- Two microwave meals along with five quarters in change. Loss value: $231.25
Parking Lot 17, 2600 Wichita
Occurred on 5-21-02 at 1:18 a.m.
Burglary of Motor Vehicle: A non-UT subject observed an unknown subject enter an unlocked blue van that was parked in the northeast corner of the Parking Lot. The van belonged to an acquaintance of the witness. When the witness started blowing the horn of the vehicle he was in, subject exited the van and was last seen walking away in a westerly direction. Van had been rifled through but nothing was stolen. Subject was described as a white male, early 20's, with medium length blond hair. Subject was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, gray pants and carrying a black backpack.
Jesse H. Jones Communication Center Building C, 2504-C Whitis Avenue
Occurred on 5-20-02 between 9:15 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
Theft: A three-foot long tripod in a blue zipper bag was stolen from a cart that was left unattended in the service drive. Loss value: $100.00.
2400 Block Whitis Avenue
Occurred on 5-20-02 at 8:50 p.m.
Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was found under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was an endangerment to himself. Subject was transported by EMS to Brackenridge Hospital due to extreme alcohol poisoning.
